Why I Love PhotoReading and why I'm committed to the work of Paul Scheele

 

When I found PhotoReading, I was looking for more efficient ways to get my reading done, and as a literacy tutor, how to accelerate the ability of my students. When the PhotoReading brochure arrived in my mailbox in 2002, it blew my wig off. If their claims were true about, processing information faster and better by accessing the deeper regions of our mind and developing our brains in the way in which they are designed – all I could think was "Sign Me Up!"

 

I immediately ordered the PhotoReading home study course and when it arrived, within five minutes of listening to it, I had a Eureka Moment! Something in me knew that I would teach it and give myself to the work and that's just what I've done. I'm an avid reader and a lover of learning and books, but I didn't have enriching and memorable experiences in school. Now I understand why. I understand my own learning style, the multiple intellingences, how my brain works, including my conscious and unconscious mind. I also know that school teaches us 'subject matter' but neglects to teach us about ourselves. I now know how to use the hidden resources that are inherently mine and how to use them!

 

I also understand the the problems with education, the challenges that educator face, and the innovative solutions that are necessary to create a love in students as life-long learners and to keep us competitive in a global community in this burgenoning information. Paul R. Scheele is an amazing and brilliant human being and his work has completely inspired and transformed my perceptions of myself as well as my abilities. When I first met Paul, during one of his extraordinary seminars, I was astonished because I realized that he wasn't trying to sell me anything. Perhaps a better way to express that is that the only thing he was selling me on was my self and my own natural abilities! He just put it out there and encouraged everyone to check it out for themselves.
